LIQUID GOLD | PRF

Combined with microneedling, Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF), commonly known as Liquid Gold, rejuvenates your complexion using your own growth factors. This treatment stimulates collagen production and new blood flow, triggering the body's natural healing process. PRF involves withdrawing your blood and using a centrifuge to separate the components. The growth factors in the platelets are then injected back into your skin, promoting cell repair and regeneration, improving your complexion, skin texture, and pigmentation while also slowing and reversing the signs of aging.

PRF, unlike PRP, does not involve the use of any anticoagulants, which means it forms a fibrin matrix that can hold and release growth factors more effectively over time. This fibrin matrix provides a scaffold for new cell growth and enhances the longevity of the treatment's benefits. PRF is especially effective in reducing dark circles and fine lines under the eyes, improving the appearance of the face, neck, and décolletage.

This procedure works well to reduce dark circles and fine lines under the eyes. PRF can also be used to promote hair growth in areas of thinning or hair loss. A customized mixture will be chosen especially for you.

Please note that PRF treatment is only available as an add-on to the microneedling treatment.

Before
Treatment

  • SCHEDULING. Schedule your PRF treatment at least 2-4 weeks before any special event, such as a wedding or vacation, to ensure optimal results and allow any potential bruising or swelling to subside. This also provides time for any necessary refinements.

  • AVOID CERTAIN SKIN TREATMENTS. Avoid chemical peels, waxing, electrolysis, laser treatments, or threading seven days prior to treatment.

  • DISCONTINUE BLOOD THINNERS. Discontinue blood thinning agents such as vitamin E, vitamin A, gingko, garlic, flax, cod liver oil, and essential fatty acids, as well as multivitamins, a minimum of 7 days (preferably 14 days) prior to treatment. If you are taking any blood thinners, please let your provider know immediately, as they may pose a contraindication to this treatment. These medications include Plavix, Coumadin, and Heparin.

  • AVOID ANTI-INFLAMMATORY MEDICATIONS. Avoid aspirin, Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, Naproxen, Voltaren, and any other anti-inflammatory medications. The mechanism of inflammation is critical to the efficacy of PRF treatments. You may use Tylenol (acetaminophen) as needed prior to the treatment.

  • PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS. Prescription medications (including heart and blood pressure medication) should be taken as prescribed up to and including the day of and the day after your treatments.

  • AVOID CERTAIN TOPICAL PRODUCTS. Avoid topical products such as Tretinoin (Retin-A), Retinols, Retinoids, Glycolic Acid, Alpha Hydroxy Acid, Salicylic Acid, or other “anti-aging," “acne," and “bleaching” products. Also avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or the use of hair removal cream on the area to be treated.
